GATE 2024: Applications to start on August 24, know how to apply

 The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 will be held on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024. The online application process will start on August 24, 2023 and will close on September 29, 2023. The late fee for application will be applicable till October 13, 2023.

The GATE exam is a national-level entrance exam for postgraduate engineering courses in India. It is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. The exam is held in 30 different disciplines of engineering and technology.

To be eligible to apply for GATE 2024, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, architecture, or science from a recognized university or institution. They must have also secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade) in the qualifying examination.

The GATE exam is a computer-based test (CBT). It consists of two papers, each of three hours duration. Paper 1 is of general nature and covers mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Paper 2 is discipline-specific and covers the syllabus of the respective engineering discipline.

The GATE score is used for admission to postgraduate engineering programs in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other top engineering colleges in India. It is also used for recruitment by government and private organizations.

How to apply for GATE 2024

To apply for GATE 2024, candidates need to follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website of GATE 2024 at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.
2. Click on the “Apply Online” tab.
3. Create an account and login.
4. Fill out the application form and upload the required documents.
5. Pay the application fee.
6. Submit the application form.

The application fee for GATE 2024 is Rs. 1000 for general category candidates and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. The late fee for application is Rs. 1000 for general category candidates and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
